At Ahnu we believe that collaboration inspires innovation and vice versa; and it shows in our teamwork and our products. We are a small team that works together, plays together and that thrives on shared inspiration. That philosophy improves our results and adds to the fun.

We also draw inspiration from our company name. "Ahnu" derives from the goddess of balance and well-being in Celtic mythology. The choice is both deliberate and appropriate, as we balance work and play, as well as business goals with social and environmental responsibility.

From our factory standards (we adhere to Deckers Ethical Supply Chain Standards, among the toughest standards in the industry), to the use of certified post-consumer recycled fibers in our catalogs and packaging, our commitment is visible throughout all aspects of our brand.

Our product goal is to achieve uncompromising footwear performance. We work with leading biomechanists, designers and athletes to develop footwear that will provide the appropriate balance of traction, grip, flexibility, cushioning and durability for a variety of outdoor activities whether on trails, beaches or sidewalks.

We use the latest, cutting edge materials and best practices in biomechanical design to provide support, comfort and protection without fashion tech or faux gimmicky design.

Ahnu Expands Yoga-Inspired Collection for Spring 2013

Ahnu Footwear, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQGS: DECK), is continuing its advance into the yoga market with an expanded collection of yoga-inspired footwear for spring 2013. The Escape collection will feature four new sandal styles, new colorways for the existing Karma and Zen product, and two non-leather, vegan styles of the Karma slip on.

“The Escape Collection was designed with the growing yoga community in mind,” said Jacqueline Van Dine, Brand Manager of Ahnu. “This new collection of shoes compliments any yoga look and provides comfort and cushioning that helps extend that post yoga glow outside of the studio.”

Crafted to capture the beauty of ergonomic design, the Escape Collection’s form-fitting suede underfoot bed cradles and supports the arch, creating the sensation of walking barefoot and making it perfect for après yoga comfort. Made of luxurious Nappa leather uppers and available in a wide variety of silhouettes and colors, the Escape Collection offers endless casual comfort and style.

“As a busy yoga teacher, I am always looking for comfortable, durable and stylish products to support my busy schedule and personal style,” says Adri Kyser, Global Vinyasa Yoga teacher in Dallas, Texas and abroad. “Ahnu’s Karma shoes are exactly that and much more. I wear them to and from class, while I’m running errands, and during my travels around the world.”
